Do you thrill to the sound of vocal harmony? If The Dixie Chicks, The Eagles, or even The Sound of Music make you want to jump in and find your part, then maybe youre ready to join the A Cappella singing group.We will learn and perform tight arrangements of pop songs in which the voices provide all of the music, from the melody to the percussion to the ornamentation. This challenging class is appropriate for singers ten and older who have some experience with matching pitches when singing harmony.
This class is for those who really enjoy singing songs in a group and working out terrific harmonies. Learn to hold your part and layer harmonies as we sing familiar songs from Doo Wop and Motown to current hits. We'll add choreography and instruments to make our performances stand out. Singers and instrumentalists welcome!
John, Paul, George and Ringo gave us some of the greatest music of our time. The anthems, ballads and rock n roll tunes of the Beatles will be learned, with an emphasis on vocal harmonies. Well be singing in large and small group ensembles and will perform in Noontime Shows and on Arts Festival Day.
Explore the evolution of drumming and the drumset. This class will teach the role of the drummer and how the drumset has evolved from the early 1900's to present. Various drumset rhythms and musical styles will be covered. Prior music experience and familiarity with drum basics would be helpful but not necessary.
If you play an acoustic instrument (non-electric), such as guitar, violin, banjo, harmonica, flute, etc., or you are a singer and want to be in a band, come to Folk Band! Well play all your folky favorites from James Taylor and Paul Simon up to todays folk performers, such as; The Indigo Girls, Nickel Creek and Allison Kraus as well as a little Bluegrass, a little swing, a little Blues and a lot of singing. Were not as loud as Rock Band, but we rock the camp!

Youll learn the basic chords that are used in all styles - classical, jazz, folk, rock, blues, and funk. Students must provide their own guitars. Please specify electric or acoustic. Bass guitar is not taught in this class. There will be two sections; one for beginners and one for intermediate students. PLEASE specify your level when signing up.

(electric or acoustic) Let's Jam! Learn to improvise on your instrument in a variety of Jazz styles. Fusion, Swing, Latin, Brazilian, and much more will be covered. If you play an instrument and you're looking for a challenge, than this is the class for you. This class is only recommended for the most experienced instrumentalists. Please specify instrument.
This fun performance class introduces our youngest campers to a touch of Broadway. This summers mini-scripts will be adapted from several favorite musicals. Young actors learn stage directions, basic acting skills, simple choreography and have the opportunity to sing solos, duets and group numbers. Join us!
A showtunes class for those who love to perform and those who want to learn how. Come learn to sing and dance your favorite Broadway tunes and a few original ones too!
If you feel that your voice sounds best when blended with a group, and you want to learn to harmonize, then this is the class for you. Sing along to American Rock n Roll hits spanning the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Van Morrison, the Band, Credence, Dylan, Jackson Browne, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Elton John, and lots more. Come join us and bring a favorite song to sing and possibly perform.
Crash! Boom! Bang! Stomp! These sounds are music to the ears in this group! With buckets, trash cans, and perhaps even the kitchen sink, we'll work together to bang out the rhythms of life! Drumming basics are taught, but not stressed.
Join together to rock the camp with this electric band! Blues, Rock and Pop tunes will be rehearsed and performed by members of the group. There will be two sets of drums and an electric bass available. Guitarists will be expected to provide their own instruments! Students should have experience on the instruments they will be playing in the band. (Please specify which instrument you play when registering.)
If you like Musicals, and if you like to sing in a group or by yourself, then come join the chorus line! You will have the opportunity to choose your own songs in addition to performing group numbers. Create a scene and choreograph your musical number, then take it to the stage. Whether you like Broadway Classics or contemporary Musical Theater, this is the class for you!
Have you ever tried writing your own song? Have you ever wanted to? We will spend the entire class writing songs and figuring out how to transform your ideas into a song. We will cover everything from getting an original idea for a song to structure and rhyme. Well also experiment with writing in different styles. This class is for all levels. Playing an instrument is by no means required, but if you play one, bring it!
Be part of the exciting team that writes this year's soap opera. Learn how to write short scenes, dramatic moments and exciting plot lines and watch them play out as the actors and crew take your script and make it happen on the big screen. For even more fun, join the crew or cast of Soap Opera during third period and see first hand how your script turns into a show.
